When we create new team Microsoft Team, we get a couple of templates as shown below. Though I didn't found them useful, currently these are limited to Channel and Tab creation, where Tab you need to configure again in new Team.
But I think it is still worth talking about, if you are having Team settings other than default.
If you will check “Manage an Event” template, you will see how many channels and apps it is going to add in Team
You may want to create one as per your requirement.
In this document we will see how to create a MS Team template and how to deploy using that template.
Now there are two ways to create a template
Create from scratch
Create from a reference Team.
We will work on second one.
I am having following Team with few channels and few apps added to it.
Now go to “Microsoft Team admin center > Teams > Team Templates”, then click on “Add”
Select “Use an existing team as a template”, click “Next”
Select Team, click “Next”
Then edit your template name, description and locale, click “Next”. Read the instruction to understand two different description boxes.
Now edit your channel and add required tabs.
I added couple of tabs
Leave Apps to default, now click “Submit” your template is ready to use.
Now lets create new Team, you can see my template is available to use, on select you can see it is showing all channels and apps which we had.
Now click on “Start” select Private or Public then update your team details and click on create
*Please ignore the classification detail at the bottom "This team is classified for Roofing information", You will not see that in your case, we will talk about this Team classification in some other blog.
Once created you can see our team in place with our custom template.
